I had no clue that guns needed batteries!!! Today I wanted to shoot, but I left my Canik at home. The range has about 30 used guns for customers to rent, so I chose a Walther PPQ 9mm because I love the way it feels in my hand. I really noticed that it had more recoil than my Canik with the first shot. The Walther has a shorter barrel, so there was a noticeable kick. After I reloaded, I could not get the gun to fire. Luckily another co-worker was near me, so I asked him. He took the mag out and put it back in. This seemed to fix it.
With the next reload, I had the same problem. A different co-worker was behind me and told me that the gun was “out of battery” and to hit the back of the slide. I did what he said and it worked. Guess what……… it did it again the next time I reloaded. The same co-worker was behind me, so I hit the back of the slide and it fixed the issue. He laughed when I told him that I did not know that guns had batteries.
Please note that guns do not need batteries. This is a term used with the slide is not correct. To have a better understanding of your gun, make sure to take a few classes to clearly understand your gun.
